Omron Ethernet Fins driver
« on: November 21, 2015, 09:12:22 AM »
Hey Archie,

Currently i have been working on a project with Omron NJ101-1000 PLC in which I have 3 digital tags W0.00, W0.01, W0.02. I was trying to connect it to the PLC via Advanced HMI but it always throws "No Reponse from PLC. Ensure baud rate is correct." error from HostlinkbaseCom's function
Public Function Read(ByVal startAddress As String, ByVal numberOfElements As Integer) As String() Implements IComComponent.Read

And when timer is added to read the value of W0.02 then it gives the error as "Send Buffer is full, may have lost communication." from HostlinkbaseCom's

Please guide me how to connect the NJ series Omron PLC to  our AdvancedHMI

Thanks for your valuable time and effort and a fantastic product.

I assume you are using OmronSerialFINSCom driver. I do not have an NJ series to test with, so I am not sure if it works.

Did you shutdown your programming software completely to make sure AdvancedHMI can get sole access to the serial port?

Forgive my basic questions, but I've never used the NJ controller.

Are you using RS232 or Ethernet?

Hey  Archie,

I'm using Ethernet Fins Driver to connect to NJ controller.

And the from what i know it uses CIP as base and as far as i know even our CLX uses the same drivers (If this may be of any use to you).

Hey Guys,

I've been able to connect to NJ PLC via AdvanceHMI.

The problem seemed to  be with variable declaration in PLC. When the tags were made we put in D0/D1 variable for those tags and published it in Global variables. These variables value then just popped-up in AdvanceHMI DigitalPanelMeters.

Thanks a lot Archie.
