Title: how can i just enter tags instead of modbus adresses

ok i wrote a whole program using modbus adresses on a idec brick 40 i/o , i saw someone enter just the tags on a youtube video, i have 4 more programs to write and it took me a month to write this one, (love the program by the way so im not complaining) but i have tried to just write the tags in and they wont work, is it because of my plc ?
