Hi Bachphi
We have been using varies Click PLCs for a number of years, they are 100% reliable now, the earlier firmware had a few odd issues with coding but I can't fault them now. We have a bottle filling machine that runs 6 days per week 52 weeks per year running 100,000 litres per day with a Click analog version with serial only comms, has never stopped, replaced the battery last year after 6 years of operation. Amazing little PLC.

Support Questions / Re: AHMI & STEP 7 V4.0 MicroWIN SP5
« on: July 05, 2016, 05:04:27 AM »
Are you looking for a simulation server or an S7 driver for AHMI; AHMI does not have native drivers for S7 as yet. You might like to check out Snap 7; I haven't tried this yet but they have a server that responds as an S7 machine. I have been working on finding a 'free'' OPC server that AHMI will connect to  but they don't allow free versions to connect using many Tags, the most I have found is 30 from a British company but I need a minimum of 50. The Micro edition is very limited in what you can do with it as you have found there isn't a simulator provided with it like S7 Professional.

best of luck

Hi Archie
Even GE Proficy Ifix 5.8 can do everything except send the Text message on it's own; we have an addon called Win911 which we use for text messages that tightly integrates with Ifix. I would not recommend iFix to anyone reading this; after 12 months developing an unlimited tag system with 13500 tags in use I can say it is buggy, costly, incorrect documentation, and there are better systems around which do the job with less heartache. We replaced a South African "Adroit" system with iFix and I much prefer Adroit it was so easy to configure and use and did everything described in your list with ease at a much lower cost BUT documentation is all in compiled help, iFix is all PDF documents and compiled help.

We are not far off taking delivery of Ignition for doing OEE reporting as you mentioned but will be a month or two before I start developing that. Expensive to do OEE, total cost around $65K USD.

Cheers

Support Questions / Re: Message By Value
« on: June 04, 2016, 05:05:31 AM »
Hi Archie
No still did not work; have solved it though, I migrated the project to VS 2015 on Windows 10 and built it there and works. So I thing my install of VS2012 has issues with the .net framework 4 on Windows 8.1. Both are 64bit operating systems. The only other projects I maintain on VS2012 are version 3.5 framework and have been migrating them gradually but struck some issues going to the latest framework on Windows 7 clients.

All good have the AHMI project working exactly how I want it running on a Modbus driver to Automation Direct Productivity 3000.

Thanks for your help

Support Questions / Message By Value
« on: May 30, 2016, 01:09:15 AM »
Tried to use the Message by value control with Modbus TCPIP with V399f and compiles OK but when I test it; it comes up with errors relating to a missing speech Dll file and went into debugging. The speech was not enabled in the control. All I wanted to do was display day of the week using an integer value 1 - 7 as the day in text.

Support Questions / Re: Gray-Box OPC Server for Siemens S7
« on: May 20, 2016, 03:14:42 AM »
Hi Archie

Yes well the toolkit does make it possible to build an opc server and they do state it supports Siemens S7 but no help to do that what so ever. I was wondering if anyone has any luck building it.

Just found some documentation so I will post my findings with it.

Cheers and thanks for a great little HMI Package.

Support Questions / Gray-Box OPC Server for Siemens S7
« on: May 19, 2016, 03:30:02 AM »
Hi
Has any one found a relatively inexpensive OPC Server suitable for a low Tag count application with Siemens S7 / Vipa Speed 7 / Vipa 200V PLCs that will work well on AdvancedHMI. I downloaded Gray-Box and being Russian they don't seem to document much about how to build it. It has possibilities as in it's free form no time limits and max 100 tags which is ideal for small machine applications.

Does it work on AdvancedHMI?
