I am building a multi-form project. On the forms I have controls that are part of my PLC program. I have placed a comm driver on each form. Is that correct or do I just need the comm driver on the main form?

TIA

Support Questions / Re: Can't get Quick Start Panel Meter to run in AHMI
« on: February 04, 2017, 01:14:09 PM »
Archie,
I was misinterpreting
Quote
Before starting AdvancedHMI
.
I was shutting down LINX AFTER, I had started AHMI.
I also had the PLC online. So I presume that LINX,LOGIX were holding the com1 open?
After shutting LINX down, taking LOGIX off line it works like champ!

As usual
Thanks

Support Questions / Can't get Quick Start Panel Meter to run in AHMI
« on: February 04, 2017, 02:41:10 AM »
Hey all,
Back again with problems. My setup:
  • WIN 7 PRO 64 Bit
  • VB VS 2015
  • RSLogix 500
  • AB MICROLOGIX 1000 32 PT
  • RSLinx

I have had this problem before but can't remember how Archie solved it.
After I have downloaded to PLC, run the Quick Start, I get no errors in AHNI, but I also do not get the meter to indicate the accumulater value.
Yet when I toggle the bit in Logix it increments in the ladder but not in AHMI.
I have tried it with Linx loaded and also with it shut down. No go.
I have attached screen shots of the properties, ladder and Linx files as well as the properties for the
SerialDF1forSLCMicroCom1. :(
HELP!!
TIA

Support Questions / DF1 driver moved - changed
« on: February 02, 2017, 12:41:48 AM »
I've not been keeping up with new versions. I have 399t but there is no DF1 driver in the tool box. I have an AB ML 1000.
What did or am I missing?

Thanks

Guys,
Thanks for the guidance and input (no pun intended).

I have no idea why I had a senior moment, but all I can say is "DOH"!!!!
Thanks for the info and Happy New Year

Yes, and I am confused as to how to connect the wires to the plc.
Maybe I am misunderstanding the concepts, but my thoughts are:

Write the ladder in RSLogix
download to PLC
Write the code in AHMI and control the PLC from within AHMI.

For example:
In RS I have a XIC (I:0.0) and an output (O:0.0)
I have a simple PB and light in AHMI.
Build the project.
Run it, and when I push the PB In AHMI) the light should come on in AHMI and the I/O lights on the PLC should also (?)

So... must I have physical switches?
But my greatest heart-burn is the actual wiring to the input terminals, (Must a physical device [a switch ]  be connected to the inputs?)I must not have the 24vDC wired right or have I really missed the whole concept?

The attached schematic has the questions and a request to draw in the correct wiring.
The PLC has a external 24Vdc supply.

I am close to playing in the reeway traffic if I can't get it wired right.

Hope this makes my dilemma and solutions more clear.

TIA

Hi all. I am going nuts trying to connect my ML 1000 32pt to AHMI, RSLogix. It connects with RSLinx and the output led comes on but not the input led.
I'm sure it is how I have or haven't wired the terminals correctly.

I am attaching the AB schematic for it with notes and am desperately seeking a kind soul to pencil in the required wiring to the inputs so that when I run a prog. in RSLogix or AHMI the INPUT LEDs will come on.

I have no external switches, I just want to control ML from AHMI & RSLogix.

The schematic has me completely baffled....

My first born to he/she/they that tells mshows me what I'm doing wrong.

Many,many thanks:
