Ethernet IP to LSIS PLC with EIPT card
« on: April 11, 2017, 01:25:21 AM »
Team,

I am trying to communicate with an LSIS XGT PLC.  The PLC has an EIPT (Rockwell Ethernet IP protocol) card in it.  Has anyone got any experience?

I am a complete noob to AdvancedHMI software.

EthernetIPforPLC5Com looks most appropriate, but I am not sure, and there is no generic driver I can see.  I have set up the correct IP address, but I expect that the PLC is the server and the PC is the Client?  I have set up the tag names / addresses on the PLC, but I can't seem to get anything.

When I do an 'autoscan' on the PLC it can see the PC and has the P (Parameter) and D (Diagnostic) lit up, but the A (Active) is dulled out.  In the status by service it says the PLC address is NONEXIST which doesn't look good.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

The AdvancedHMI EIP drivers use class 3 connected explicit messages with symbolic addressing and service code 0x4c (Read Tag). This is very specialized to reading tag values in a ControlLogix. Unless your PLC imitates this, the drivers will not work.

Those PLCs look like a rebranded Omron. Do they support FINS communications?
