Upgrading is a matter of starting with the latest version then using Solution Explorer to Add Existing Items to the solution and select the .vb file from the old solution. You will possibly get a few errors from class/property name changes. Those require correcting manually one at a time.

If you plan on using AHMI much I would at least give it a college try.  Once you do it once it will be a lot easier in the future... and, if you do use AHMI a lot it's something you will really need to know how to do.  If you get stuck, just include screenshots.  Visual Studio does a great job on explaining errors.  Just double click the error and it takes you right to it.  Visual Studio is a really nice piece of software in my opinion.
