Another new guy
« on: April 29, 2015, 07:48:30 PM »
I have just started using Advanced HMI and have a pretty basic question, one I'm sure has been covered many times in this forum.

How do I WRITE numbers and read and write strings to my PLC.

Reading values is pretty straightforward but what am I missing that would allow me to write data to my PLC using one of the basic controls?

I am using a ControlLogix PLC and have connected and read information using the EthernetIPforCLXCom driver.

If you could point me to some relevant posts or tutorials, I would greatly appreciate it.

Never mind.  I found a post explaining PLCAddressKeypad and another discussing the Default String type limits and work arounds.

Anybody designed a control that makes strings of non default types to be read and written to easily for ControlLogix?
