I usually set TargetNode to 1.

Would you know, from RSLinx, what your node is?

Can you also post the Device Manager picture for your Com3 settings?

I was assuming the station number was the node

Tried with target node set to 1 and also no traffic

Ok baud on the port was set to 9600, I changed to 19200 am trying a few things

What version of AdvancedHMI are you using?

3.99
3.99 and what version? There should be a letter after 3.99

3.99t
I don't think there has been any changes to the DF1 driver, but you may want to try the latest version of 3.99w

Did you also make sure to right-click the RSLinx icon in the system tray and select "Shutdown" prior to using AHMI?

Also, have you actually used the "Auto-Configure" button to set parameters for your RS-232 DF1 device in the RSLinx (or did you do this manually)? If these settings are correct then you just need to focus on setting the AHMI driver, whichever driver you might be trying at the time.

Rslinxs is for sure shutdown, I checked through the task manger as well.  Auto configure does not work with the UIC adapter, those settings were entered manually, so they are definitely right. Archie I will try upgrading to w but it will have to wait until Friday, the Leafs are playing and I have work next few days.

It would be nice to get this working, so many of these PLCs and cards can be had for dirt cheap on eBay they just need a cheap HMI to repupose them.

Yes that is the driver I have installed, followed those exact instructions.

Just to make sure RSLinxs isn't hogging the com port I re-ran a bunch of things after changing the UIC to com9 and still absolutely nothing.

Will try upgrading AHMI tomorow

I am not familiar with either SLC 5/02 or with your UIC adapter but the reason I posted that link was because your AB_DF1 settings differ from theirs.

Not sure if 9600 baud might be functional if you set it in your COM settings or whether DH-485 is the correct choice instead of Data Highway Plus or whether SLC-CH0/Micro/PanelView should replace your 1770-KF2/1785-KE....

You just cannot use the UIC with AdvanceHMI, just not work because the UIC uses a special DF1 protocol. Thats why in Rslinx the driver is 1770-KF2/1785-KE/SCAN... and not the normal DF1/Micrologix/PanelView. But i think, not shure, the SLC 5/02 as a RS232/DF1 port.

that would explain it then, but the 5/02 is DH485/rs485.

I would think the only difference with using straight RS232 versus the UIC module is that the Source and Target nodes will become important

Tyler is trying to put us in his beer tub.
My early post said " Add DH485 UIC device driver" and he said "Done that"  , but all the screen shot shown here were not DHC485 UIC driver. However, his weird DF1 setup appears to be working :=)

If you can wait till next week, I can test one unit with 5/02.

BTW, can you summarize your beer making secretive process?

Sorry guys I got busy at work last few days, but I should have some time tommorow to work at this a bit.

Bachphi I forgot that the settings are a bit different.  I posted the question on PLC talk some time ago and had some info from Ken Roach here http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/showthread.php?t=99426 and thats where my settings come from.  I'm tempted to ask him for some advice as he's very active on that forum and knows his Allen Bradley.

My brewery isn't much of a looker yet but its coming along

And a quick P&ID i did up
